Opportunity: To intern at a growing and contemporary local church in a very multi cultural setting. Urbana is the home to the University of Illinois which not only adds to the diversity but serves to bring wonderful opportunities to serve God in a world class environment.
Opportunity to experience all aspects of church life
There is simply no better way to become equipped to serve in the local church than being immersed in all of its functions for a concentrated period of time. You will get to serve in nearly every ministry the church offers, experiencing these Kingdom works from the “inside out.” You’ll see how ministries function, how the operations team supports ministry, how the office works, how staffing and programming unfold, and much more. In addition, you’ll have an office with a computer and phone.
Opportunity to grow under the mentoring of a staff pastor
Every week, you will meet with your mentoring pastor for purposes of discipleship and leadership development. This relationship will serve to cause you to grow and offer support, encouragement and accountability.
Opportunity to earn a stipend
Each intern receives a modest $300 monthly stipend for their work and will also receive a book allowance to help defray the cost of building your personal library. Frequently, you’ll be invited to additional training seminars, to attend conferences, to travel with a pastor at no expense.
