Who are we?

Stone Creek Church is multicultural, multiethnic, and multigenerational. We're committed to real relationships with God and one another. Above all else, we are here to help people find God and follow Him.

Even though over a thousand people attend weekend services, we value a strong sense of community. As you find your place here, we will encourage and challenge you in your journey with Christ. We hope that you will take advantage of our wide variety of groups and ministries - these are the places where you will really begin to grow, and where you can use your abilities to help others. We invite you to become part of our family!

Frequently Asked Questions

What denomination is Stone Creek Church?
We are affiliated with the Assemblies of God (www.ag.org) , Rick Warren and the Purpose Driven Church (www.purposedriven.com), and the Willow Creek Association (www.willowcreek.com).

Why did the name of the church change?
Formerly known as Urbana Assembly of God, we changed to Stone Creek Church in September 2007. The name change was designed to overcome denominational barriers and to help us with our missional goal of reaching the “unchurched” and “dechurched” in the community.

Why are there two different service locations?
Because we are blessed! The Auditorium is located on the west side of the building and features a more traditional church atmosphere. The Café is on the east side of the building, and has both theater style and café seating, plus a coffee bar!

The Cafe was added in 2004 with the vision that our young people would have a place for ministry. SuddenImpact Student Ministry uses it throughout the week, and on weekends it is reorganized for weekend services.

Are the Weekend Services different?
The only different service is the 8:30am Classic Service. "Classic" refers to the style of music, which includes some older choruses and hymns. The message, notes, and media, however, are the same in all four services.

The other difference is between the two rooms used. If you prefer a relaxed setting, try the Café. There, you’ll be able to sip your coffee and sit around café tables or lovely padded chairs. The Auditorium is more traditional, but you can still feel free to drink your coffee - we’ll just ask you to put a lid on it.
